$3.5 million Buy Out Puts Alex Fraser Asphalt in Full Control

Alex Fraser Asphalt is now the sole owner of the multi-million dollar drum mix plant used to create its range of quality asphalt products following a successful buy-out of its joint-venture partner of nearly 10 years, Works Infrastructure.

The $3.5 million acquisition, finalised in October, gives Alex Fraser Asphalt 100 per cent control and the secure foundations it needs for further expansion and growth.

Nudgee Operations Impress Senior Government Officials

A trial of glass in roadbase currently underway at Laverton will resolve the dilemma we have had at the site for some time – what on earth to do with the 100,000 tonnes of crushed glass taking up space on the Laverton sales floor.
The massive stockpile of material has been the subject of much consideration but an idea has been brewing – to use crushed glass as an additive in roadbase products.

Premier Brumby Officially Opens the Western Metropolitan Recycling Facility

The world's most advanced construction and demolition (C&D) materials recycling facility has been officially opened by the Premier of Victoria the Hon. John Brumby MP in Melbourne Wednesday 18 November 2009.

The $45 million Western Metropolitan Recycling Facility, owned and operated by the Alex Fraser Group, brings together some of the smartest design and most innovative technology available to deliver a massive boost to C&D recycling capacity in Victoria.

According to the Alex Fraser Group Managing Director Jamie McKellar the new plant will recycle up to one million tonnes of C&D materials each year, nearly a third of Victoria's entire C&D recycling effort in 2007-08 from just one plant.

Newly Updated VicRoads Specification 820 Delivers Greater Choice

After two years of research VicRoads has updated its road base Standard Specification Section 820 to allow for a higher level of brick in Class 3 and Class 4 Crushed Concrete materials. The specification also includes requirements for registration of mix designs for crushed concrete.

Multi-Million Dollar Recycling Facility Approved for Clayton

Leading waste management and resource recovery operator The Alex Fraser Group will invest in a multi-million dollar state-of-the-art recycling facility in Melbourne’s south east.

After an exhaustive process lasting more than eight years, Minister for Planning, the Hon. Justin Madden, today formally approved an application from the Alex Fraser Group for the establishment of a new construction and demolition transfer station and associated materials recycling facility at a site in Kingston Road, Clayton.
