Our application to continue Clarinda Recycling Facility operations

Alex Fraser’s application to extend the operating permit for its Clarinda Recycling Facility has now been called in by the Victorian Minister for Planning.

At Clarinda, we have the capacity to recycle up to one million tonnes into quality construction materials every year. That’s enough to fill the MCG every two years.

The current permit is due to expire in 2023, and, an extension is needed to ensure councils have a place to send material to be recycled, and to secure the ongoing supply of urgently needed materials for road and rail projects throughout the south-eastern suburbs.

We hope the Minister will make a timely decision that provides a long-term solution to the recycling and resources crises in Victoria, ensures the availability of supply to major infrastructure projects, and secures jobs for the 50 Victorians employed at the Clarinda site.
