Alex Fraser has successfully completed the Webb Dock West project for CPB Contractors (formerly Leighton Contractors), CPB were engaged by Melbourne International RoRo and Auto Terminal (MIRRAT)

The new roll-on roll-off terminal opened in April and is Australia’s largest automotive terminal, allowing one million cars to pass through each year. Alex Fraser’s ability to deliver projects on time played a significant role in our selection for this project. In total we supplied 8,349 tonnes of Recycled Sand, 235,786 tonnes of Class 2, 3 and 4 Crushed Concrete, 30,509 tonnes of Class 2 Crushed Rock and 29,260 tonnes of deep and thin lift asphalt.
Environmental outcomes were also important; using Alex Fraser materials resulted in a carbon saving of approximately 1,567 tonnes. This was a complex project and our recycling and asphalt teams did an excellent job of meeting the customer’s requirements safely.
Feedback from the customer has been outstanding: “I would like to thank you and your asphalt crew, you have all been great to work with and the quality of work has been the best I have encountered in the 20 years of working in the civil industry. I wish you all the best in the future and will certainly be recommending you guys for future Leightons/CPB projects.”
