Alex Fraser Clayton site reaches 2 million-tonne milestone

Date: 10-Jul-2013

On 13 June 2013 Alex Fraser's Clayton site managed to reach a new milestone, producing 2 million tonnes of high-grade sustainable crushed rock, pavement base and crushed concrete. Commissioned in 2009, the output at this facility has steadily increased each year, hitting a total of 2 million tonnes produced on 13 June 2013.

Alex Fraser's recycling facility on Kingston Road in Clayton provides customers with quick turn-around times at a state-of-the-art tipping location and enabled the company to cater for the increasing demand for quality recycled product.

Since its commissioning, the facility has supplied recycled road base to major projects. Large-scale infrastructure developments such as the 6.4-kilometre Dingley Bypass, the 27-kilometre Mornington freeway Peninsula Link and the busy M3 Melbourne freeway Eastlink, have been large contributors towards this impressive milestone. The material continues to be supplied to long term customers working on a range of local infrastructure construction and maintenance.

Clayton’s high-quality and high-volume output combined with its convenient location brings the company closer to reaching the 30 million-tonne milestone since it started recycling construction and demolition waste 28 years ago. Today, Alex Fraser’s eight high-tech facilities in Victoria and Queensland contribute to reaching this goal by producing specification section 812, 815, 820, 821 and 407 Vicroads-approved quality construction products.
