Search and Rescue Dogs Train at Laverton Recycling

Date: 8-Nov-2017

On Melbourne Cup weekend, Green Roads by Alex Fraser was delighted to host the Search and Rescue Dogs of Australia (SARDA) at our Laverton Site for their annual disaster training camp. Since 2013, our recycling facilities have been transformed into urban disaster training grounds for the volunteer-based, non-profit, search and rescue operation. SARDA volunteers dedicate hundreds of hours each year to training and upskilling their people and their canine detectives dogs to ensure they are ale a ready to locate missing people in the event of a urban disaster.

Over the years, Alex Fraser has donated significant funds, time and services in kids to support this small yet might cause. So why would a company like Alex Fraser support search and rescue dogs? It turns out our stockpiles of concrete, brick and asphalt are the perfect simulation environment for search and rescue training.
