Local Councils invest in Greener Roads.

Date: 13-Nov-2017

During National Recycling Week (November 13 - 19), we commended the municipalities across Victoria who paved the way towards greener cities by choosing Alex Fraser’s recycled materials over quarried natural resources.

In National Recycling Week alone, more than a dozen local government organisations invested in our green building materials to upkeep their cities.

Central areas like Stonnington, Yarra, Brimbank, and Hume chose our recycled road base over quarried natural resources. While regional councils, such as Macedon Ranges, Frankston, Cardinia and Casey chose to use Alex Fraser asphalt, containing up to 40% recycled content.

Growth areas like Greater Dandenong, Kingston, and Melton are chose construction material containing the recycled glass they once collected from their residents’ wheelie bins.  From Mornington Peninsula to

Murrindindi, Whittlesea to Wyndham local councils are helping to close the loop.

Through Green Roads, we urging everyone involved in the development and maintenance of infrastructure to consider their role in closing the recycling loop. By choosing Green Roads by Alex Fraser to supply their projects, they will help:

  • Reduce landfill by 98%
  • Reduce carbon footprint of the project by 65%;
  • Reduce truck traffic by 30%; and
  • Reduce quarrying of precious natural resources by 110%.
