ROUND THE BAY IN A DAY

Date: 9-Oct-2016

In 2016, six Alex Fraser people teamed with five customers to ride 210 kilometres via
Queenscliff, the ferry to Sorrento and then back to Melbourne to raise money for children in need.

Round the Bay in a Day is an annual sporting fixture on the Victorian calendar which brings cycling enthusiasts together to raise money for children in need. This year six Alex Fraser people teamed with five customers to ride 210 kilometres via Queenscliff, the ferry to Sorrento and then back to Melbourne, supported by Mark Barraclough and Elizabeth McRae driving the Alex Fraser Asphalt support van.

Naazer Nilar, Recycling Industries Key Account Manager explained: “Before we set off we discussed the importance of safe riding and looking out for other riders, riding within comfort zones, exhaustion and strong winds. The cross winds on the day were challenging, reaching 60 kilometres per hour. Even the ferry crossing was a challenge. A top effort by Deone Coote, Andrew Caliguri, Christine Jell, Peter Murphy, and David Johnson who all finished the ride without any assistance from the support bus. The support crew were awesome and helped make the day a success. We look forward to again doing this event next year!”
