Energy Efficiency Opportunities Implemented 'In House' at Alex Fraser

The Alex Fraser Group has embarked on an ambitious program to find energy saving opportunities across its operations.

With projects now underway Alex Fraser aims to significantly improve its energy efficiency and enhance its reputation as a leader in the field of recycling and natural resource management.

Current projects include:

The Power Factor project – investigating the purchase of electrical power correct system that uses a bank of capacitators to control usage of electricity in new plants
The Thor Stacker project – investigating the use of a Telescopic Conveyor arm on new crushing plant to enable less heavy vehicle movements reducing diesel burn
The Transmission Change project – investigating the introduction of software that optimises the change points in trucks to enable better fuel efficiency
The Transport Module project – a new Transport Operating System that efficiently coordinates all loads
The Mobile Equipment Energy Training project - a program developed to train all operators of plant equipment on best techniques and practises to enable optimum fuel usage.
