Alex Fraser Asphalt is now the sole owner of the multi-million dollar drum mix plant used to create its range of quality asphalt products following a successful buy-out of its joint-venture partner of nearly 10 years, Works Infrastructure.
The $3.5 million acquisition, finalised in October, gives Alex Fraser Asphalt 100 per cent control and the secure foundations it needs for further expansion and growth.
According to General Manager of Alex Fraser Asphalt Brendan Camilleri this important and friendly buy-out will help the team secure larger tenders and projects with programme certainty that could not be guaranteed as a joint-venture.
“Following the set up of a highly efficient laying crew, the sole ownership of the plant was the next step in expanding the business,” he said.
According to Brendan the ashalt division has just completed one of its busiest years on record.
“Part of the team’s success is the fact the products we sell represent a good choice for the environment as well as for their quality and durability.
“Offering an environmentally friendly option to customers, even during difficult times, is still proving to be a popular approach. Companies are becoming more and more tuned into the fact that they have to act in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.”
